Just gathering lead is not that helpful. You may have thousands of contacts but if you don’t know how to use them, they will bring no revenue for you. Therefore, it is also important that you categorize the information which you collect and have a plan for each group. You would probably use an automation system that has been explained to you in the previous modules to gather leads. In most of these online systems, you can categorize your contacts in different types. The good point is that you can design a pathway for email marketing for each group and design which kind of promotion or services you want to offer. You can also categorize them based on their age, gender, profession or other properties. The better way would be the stage of their purchase procedure or let’s say their position in your funnel. It means that if a contact comes and download the free gift but doesn’t buy anything, you can send the reminder emails.
Let’s have an example for better understanding. Imagine that you have a travel agency and you’re selling tours for Egypt. You make your very nice video advertisement from people who are spending a very happy time in Egypt. In this video, you ask customers to click to download an eBook with the title “10 must-see wonders of Egypt which they never knew”. You put this ad on social media platforms and will have a link from this advertisement to the landing page which offers free eBooks. Customers that would be interested may click on the link and may come to the page to download a free eBook or leaflet. The eBook is like your bait. Upon clicking the download button, they would provide you the free information such as the name, email address, telephone number, or even location. Now you know that this customer is interested in going to Cairo or probably planning the next Holiday to spend in Egypt.
So, in your automation system, you design a pathway of different emails which shows what are the sightseeing and gives the customer free information again about the vacation in Egypt. In each email, you also write about your special perfect Cairo tour insert call to action button to link them back to your landing page which you sell this tour. now there are three possibilities. 1- If the customer does not open your email, he may be just curios, 2- If he/she opens the email he is more serious and really wants to go to Egypt but he may compare the prices. 3- He/she likes your offer and clicks. If they buy, then you will send more information about this tour and send them their tickets or whatever that are required.
However, if they don’t buy but open the email, you can send more emails and give them some promotions or offers to convince them you are better. Therefore, you can begin to advertise or send them emails for other places like the south of Spain, Dubai tour, or some other similar climates. It is highly valuable information that you will receive by gathering leads and you can design all of these pathways in the automation system that I’ve explained earlier in the modules. Think, be creative, and try to understand what is in the mind of customers.
Lead Magnet:
It is a technique to attract more customers. Lead Magnet is like bait in fishing. Before you cast your net it would help to use some bait which is delicious for fishes to attract them. Is totally up to the type of business that you are in you can have a different kind of lead magnets. For example, you can ask your customers to download an e-book, audio or video from your website and when they want to download it. They would have to fill out a form in order for you to receive their name and email address. These techniques called “Infomercials”. It means giving free information which is helpful and interesting for other people, to have their contact. It could be later on used to send your offer or advertise your service. In the other businesses, you may use the other techniques like giving a free coupon, free consultations or treatment sessions. Usually, the lead magnet is something free or you can ask for the very little amount but the aim is to attract more leads as much as you can. Everybody likes free stuff so tries to give something a bite for free to sell the whole cake later on.
